Victoria Aitken

Victoria Aitken makes her Magik Muzik debut with “Weekend Lover”.

“Weekend Lover” is one of those singles that has sing-a-long accessibility with an enticing dance floor edge that already harvested the support from Lovedisco, WAWA, Sosua & Mad, Gareth Emery, Paul van Dyk, Soulsurviours, Dave Pearce, Lewis Dene, James Blond, Phonatics and Paul Oakenfold; at the same time, magazines such as OK! Magazine, The Daily Mail, Khaljee Times, Hamburger Morgen Post and Riviera Life TV all covered the release of the track.

Oscar nominated director Whit Stillman secured “Weekend Lover” for his new, fourth motion picture entitled “Damsels in Distress” that closed the Venice Film Festival and is currently in release by Sony Pictures, marking his return to Hollywood in over twelve years. And now with kind permission of Whit Stillman and Sony Pictures Classic Inc., a music video has been created with original footage from the movie.

Says Victoria Aitken: “I knew that “Weekend Lover” would be a brilliant addition to Whit’s movie soundtrack. I’ve been a damsel in distress many times myself and it is what “Weekend Lover” is all about. It’s a story written from the heart, really. All guys try everything to get what they want, saying the sweetest things, being beyond funny, romantic, charming and texting you for hours, when all they want is…. -So it’s in a way my message to watch out and don’t become just a weekend lover. Especially over the upcoming long holiday weekends!”

Victoria Aitken completed a Bachelors of Arts in International Relations at Georgetown University. She speaks five languages, including English, French, German, Russian and Serbo-Croatian. She has had 6 songs in a row in both the UK and German dance charts. Her song writing abilities have been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Vogue, W Magazine, Elle, GQ, The Daily Telegraph The Daily Mail and many more. This past year, she performed to audiences in London, Dubai, Paris and Istanbul.

“Weekend Lover” is set to ignite dance floors the world over this coming season and features an impressive list of state of the art remixes by the likes of Stonebridge, Bimbo Jones, Sean Finn and many others. Get ready for a solid production on the house tip, with respectively club and tech elements.
